• Reside in Clay, Cherokee,  Graham, Macon, Swain,  Jackson, or Haywood Counties
• Be a high school senior, high  school graduate, or college  student
• Have a GPA of 2.5 or better
• Scholarships are given to African-American women of any age who will be attending a trade school, college, or university starting Fall of 2024.

Before you begin, gather all your information and materials. You will need to upload the following attachments as a part of  the application:

1. Your Personal Statement

In the online application, you will be asked to describe yourself, your educational and career aspirations, and any other pertinent information about yourself in 1500 words or less. What motivates you to pursue higher education? Please include why you should be awarded the One Dozen Who Care – Prescott Academic Scholarship and how you embody the values  of One Dozen Who Care, Inc. (Word or PDF files only)

2. Current transcript

3. Proof of acceptance or enrollment at a post-secondary institution

Scans, PDFs, or photos of acceptance letters can be uploaded

4. A photo of yourself

This photo will be used for press releases, so it should only be you (not a group) and it should be appropriate for posting in the newspaper and our website.

5. Résumé

6. The contact information for two references.

Please alert your references that you will need a letter of recommendation from each of them. We will contact them directly with where to send the letter.  Please have their email addresses and phone numbers ready to be included in the application form.
