Ronda Birtha, former Small Business Center Director for One Dozen Who Care, Inc. has been hired as the new Executive Director effective May 2022.

One Dozen Who Care, Inc. is a the first, and only non-profit, minority and women led 501c3 organization located in far western North Carolina. Serving Cherokee, Clay, Macon and Swain counties, its mission is to empower, educate and encourage economic development within the regions it serves.

Ronda Birtha ran the highly successful Small Business Center from 2006 to 2008, introducing free computer hardware and software classes to Cherokee County and beyond when the county was going through a devastating economic crisis. The four week classes ran throughout the year, many with extensive waitlists, attesting to their popularity. 

Like many organizations and companies learning to navigate in a world facing economic uncertainty, pandemic fatigue, and social anxieties, One Dozen Who Care, Inc. is in the process of updating and adapting its portfolio of events and programs in order to continue its mission and build strong community bonds.

One Dozen Who Care is looking forward to leveraging Ronda’s experience and expertise in the years to come.
